Upper row:
Left:  2D fMRI. The arrow points to a lesion located in one of the frontal lobes.  Areas in green are needed for expressive language.
Right: 3D fMRI.  A big wedge of the head has been removed to reveal the left temporal lobe and the midline of the brain. The area in orange is needed for language comprehension.

Lower row:
The brain is presented as a stack of transversal "slices."    Yellow to red areas depict a brain network  in a group of children performing a task requiring motor inhibition.
